You Can’t Get Enough Of These Delicious Cookies!

When we used to bake cookies with mom, it wasn’t really about the sweet delicacies – it was just nice to be able to spend family time away from everyday life, without hustle and bustle and stress. So it was no big deal if here and there some cookies got too brown in the oven….

Especially since, in addition to our good mood, we still had a secret weapon to save the day: The icing! With a little frosting on the Christmas cookies everything looked much better and tasted twice as good.

Today, in memory of those fond childhood memories, we want to share with you the ultimate frosting recipe!

What you need

1/2 c butter
3 tablespoons milk
1 lb powdered sugar
A pinch of salt
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Food coloring

Beat the butter until creamy, then add the first cup of powdered sugar, the milk and a pinch of salt. Mix everything well.

Add another cup of powdered sugar, the almond extract and the vanilla extract and again mix well.

Add yet another cup of powdered sugar. Stir until you have a smooth mixture. Add more powdered sugar or milk for the right consistency.

Stir in food coloring.

Brush or pipe the frosting onto the cookies.
