Germany is better known for its bread and, of course, sausage (we won&#8217;t even get started on the beer here). However, there are one or two German pastry exports: Franzbr\u00f6tchen from Hamburg, for example. Or also Nussecken.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to know how you can prepare the latter authentically yourself, we have the perfect recipe for you here!<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the dough<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 1\/2 cups flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon baking powder<br \/>\n1 pinch of salt<br \/>\n1\/2 cup sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon vanilla extract<br \/>\n2 large eggs<br \/>\n1\/2 cup butter<br \/>\n6 tablespoons apricot jam<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the nut layer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 cup butter<br \/>\n5 tablespoons rum (or water)<br \/>\n1 cup brown sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon vanilla extract<br \/>\n2 cups hazelnut flour (or almond flour)<br \/>\n1 cup hazelnuts, finely chopped<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the chocolate glace<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 cup dark chocolate, finely chopped<\/p>\n<h2>And here&#8217;s how! <\/h2>\n<p>Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F  flour and grease a baking tray.<\/p>\n<p>In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Then add sugar, vanilla extract, eggs and butter and mix well. <\/p>\n<p>Spread the dough evenly on the baking sheet and prick it several times with a fork.<\/p>\n<p>Spread apricot jam evenly on the dough.<\/p>\n<p>In a saucepan, melt the butter together with the rum (or water), sugar and vanilla extract until the sugar dissolves. Do not boil!<\/p>\n<p>Add the nuts, mix well and spread over the apricot jam.<\/p>\n<p>Bake for 30 minutes, then let cool and cut into the typical small triangles. <\/p>\n<p>Melt the chocolate and dip the tops of the Nussecken into it. <\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you think of our Nussecken?
