We have come to love the recipes from back then so much that we wouldn&#8217;t think of modifying them. In fact, sometimes only small changes are needed to add new finesse to our beloved classics. As, for example, with this sophisticated apple pie variation&#8230;.<\/p>\n<h2>This is what you need<\/h2>\n<p><strong>For the cinnamon crumble<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>7 oz flour<br \/>\n4 oz brown sugar<br \/>\n2 oz granulated sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1 teaspoon cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon nutmeg<br \/>\n2 oz butter<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon vanilla<br \/>\n2 small apples, peeled and diced<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the cake<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>4 tablespoons butter<br \/>\n4 oz granulated sugar<br \/>\n1 large egg<br \/>\n1 teaspoon vanilla<br \/>\n3 oz sour cream<br \/>\n4 oz flour<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon baking soda<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon baking powder<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cider glaze<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 oz powdered sugar<br \/>\n2 tablespoons apple cider<\/p>\n<h2>And so it goes <\/h2>\n<p>Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, grease a medium springform pan and line the bottom with baking paper.<\/p>\n<p>For the cinnamon crumble, first mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. Then add the melted butter and vanilla and stir until the mixture is evenly moistened. Set aside.<\/p>\n<p>For the cake batter, in a large bowl, cream 4 tablespoons of butter with the sugar until fluffy, then add the egg and beat well. Finally, add the vanilla and sour cream and continue beating.<\/p>\n<p>In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda and stir into the butter mixture until everything is well blended.<\/p>\n<p>Spread half of the batter thinly on the bottom of the pan, then scatter the apple pieces evenly over the batter, top with a portion of the cinnamon sprinkles. <\/p>\n<p>Spread the remaining batter on top of the crumble and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon crumble on top.<\/p>\n<p>Bake for 35-40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with apple cider and drizzle over the cake.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you like our apple pie variation?
