At least when it was served at grandma&#8217;s table. But what was the secret of its taste? We&#8217;re going to reveal it today and show you how to make K\u00f6nigsberger Klopse that taste just like grandma used to make them!<\/p>\n<h2> What you need <\/h2>\n<p>1 lb ground beef<br \/>\n10 oz ground pork<br \/>\n3 tbsp capers<br \/>\n4 shallots<br \/>\n5 anchovies<br \/>\n2 bread rolls<br \/>\n3 fl oz whole milk<br \/>\n1 l water<br \/>\n1 bay leaf<br \/>\n2 cloves<br \/>\n1 egg<br \/>\n1 tbsp mustard<br \/>\n2 oz unsalted butter<br \/>\n2 oz flour<br \/>\n1.5 fl oz white wine<br \/>\n7 fl oz heavy cream<br \/>\n1 tsp lemon<br \/>\nsugar<br \/>\nvegetable oil (for frying)<br \/>\npotato (cooked, for serving)<br \/>\nsalt\/ pepper<\/p>\n<h2>And here&#8217;s how! <\/h2>\n<p>Soak the rolls (alternatively: slices of toast) in milk, knead and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Chop the shallots, fry in a pan and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Mix both kinds of minced meat with the beaten egg, the onions, the anchovies, two tablespoons of capers and the rolls; season with salt and pepper to taste.<\/p>\n<p>Shape the minced meat into balls and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>In a saucepan, bring the water to the boil with the bay leaf and cloves, then lower the flame, add the meatballs and simmer for 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare the sauce: Mix the flour with the butter in a pan to make a roux, then add the white wine and let the alcohol boil away briefly while stirring.<\/p>\n<p>Add the cream, mix well, then stir in the mustard, lemon juice, a tablespoon of capers and a pinch of sugar; season with salt and pepper.<\/p>\n<p>Peel the potatoes and boil them in a large pot; serve with the meatballs and sauce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you like Grandma&#8217;s secret recipe?
