A Cake That No Child Can Resist – The Gummy Bear Cake!

In our childhood, there were always two sorts of kids: those who immediately snacked on any candy they could get their hands on – and those who “saved up” and built up a nice collection of various treats. The latter group had fewer problems with obesity, but with the fact that the sweets they had saved for so long eventually tasted somewhat old. And in the summer, some found that all their fruit gums had melted into one big lump. What a shock!

Today, however, we want to convince you that it can be a good thing to melt down your sweet treasures. For example, to make delicious gummy bear cake! Here’s how…

What you need

For the “filling”

8 oz gummy bears per color (i.e. 200 g red gummy bears, 200 g yellow gummy bears, etc.)
3 fl oz water per gummy bear color
8 oz natural yogurt per gummy bear color

For the jelly

7 oz brown cola bottles
9 oz white gummy bears
8 fl oz water

For the dough base

3 egg yolks
4 egg whites
3 oz sugar
2 oz flour, sifted

And here’s how

1. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Next, add the gummy bears and stir with a whisk. Let the mixture cool and then fold in the yogurt. Pour the finished mixture into an ice cube tray. Place the ice cube tray in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight.

2. Once you are done with all the gummy bear colors in step 1, you can start making the brown Jell-O. Add the brown cola gummies and the white gummies to the water and bring it to a boil. No yogurt is used here. Put the mixture in a measuring cup.

3. For the sponge cake base, beat the egg whites with half of the sugar until stiff peaks form. Then whip the egg yolks with the other half of the sugar. First gently fold the beaten egg whites into the egg yolks, then fold in the sifted flour. Spread the mixture evenly on a tray with baking paper and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. After baking, remove the sponge cake base from the tray and let it cool down.

4. remove all the ice cube bases from the refrigerator. If you have trouble getting the fruit gum cubes out of the ramekins, place the tray briefly in hot water. Put all the fruit jelly cubes in a bowl.

5. Put the cubes in a loaf pan and pour the brown Jell-O over them.

6. Cut the sponge cake base to fit into the loaf pan and then place it on top. Place the gummy bear cake in the refrigerator for at least four hours.
