Even Better Than At The Christmas Market: Baked Apple!

06.01.2022 15:15 Uhr

As children, roasted almonds or cotton candy were the highlight of every visit to the Christmas market for us. As adults, we tend to go for the mulled wine, and the delicious almonds are now too sweet for many. A former second-class snack, on the other hand, is all the more tempting these days: baked apple!

If you don’t want to stand in the cold drizzle at the Christmas market and munch this delicacy, you can easily prepare baked apples at home with our recipe!

What you need

8 apples
4 tablespoons butter
5 oz sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon

For the crumble topping

2 oz flour
1,5 oz oats
2 oz brown sugar
2 oz sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
4 tablespoons butter, diced

And here’s how

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

For the crumble topping, whisk together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, sugar, salt and cinnamon, then fold in the butter with your hands to form crumbles.

Peel and dice four apples, then saute together with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon over medium heat for 8-10 minutes. Set aside.

Scoop out the other four apples with a spoon, fill with the apple-cinnamon-sugar mixture, and garnish with the crumble topping.

Bake the stuffed apples for about 10-15 minutes.
