These Cute Hamburger Cupcakes Look Scrumptious!

Most children are culinary purists: pasta is okay, but only with tomato sauce. Bread is too hard to chew, so please only toast. And fruit is only acceptable if it tastes sweet. No experiments! But the biggest imposition has always been salted chocolate. (Honestly, who does that?).

But don’t worry, today’s recipe idea, even if it doesn’t look like it, is suitable for both small and big purists: we’ll show you how to make sweet hamburger cupcakes!

What you need

For the honey cupcakes/“burger buns”.

7 oz butter
7 oz caster sugar
2 eggs
7 oz flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon honey

For the Double Chocolate Chip Cookies/“Boulettes”.

7 oz butter
7 oz caster sugar
1 egg
14 oz flour
1 oz cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 package of chocolate chips

To enhance the burgers.

Sesame seeds
1-2 teaspoons red food coloring (for the ketchup)
1-2 teaspoons yellow food coloring (for the mustard)
1 teaspoon lemon extract (for yellow)
1-2 teaspoons green food coloring (for the salad)
4-6 teaspoons of coconut flakes
4-6 teaspoons powdered sugar (per color)

And here’s how!

For the honey cupcakes/“burger buns”.

Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Place 12 paper cups on a baking tray.

Mix the caster sugar, eggs and butter, then sift in the flour and baking powder. Add the vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon of honey and whisk again.

Pour the mixture into the individual ramekins, but only fill them a quarter at a time. Bake for 10-13 minutes until golden brown and set aside.

For the chocolate chip cookies/“boulettes”

Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Whisk together the butter, caster sugar and egg, then sift in the baking powder and cocoa powder and stir until smooth. Add the chocolate chips and stir in.

Roll the dough into small balls and press firmly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes, then set aside.

To finish and serve the burgers

In two separate bowls, mix 4-6 teaspoons powdered sugar with red “ketchup” food coloring and 4-6 teaspoons powdered sugar with yellow “mustard” food coloring. Add 1 teaspoon lemon extract to yellow mixture. (Stretch with water if necessary if mixture is too viscous).

In another bowl, mix 4-6 tablespoons of shredded coconut and 1-2 tablespoons of green food coloring and use to color the shreds green. To simulate the “burger bun”, simply cut the muffin in half.

Place cookies or “boulettes” on the bottom bun, then spread the “ketchup” on the edges of the “burger buns”. Then sprinkle the coconut “lettuce” on top.

Now add the “mustard” and place the top “burger bun” half, moisten with water and sprinkle the sesame seeds on top.
