Genius Recipe: Cheese Burger Lasagna!
As children, it was easy for us to say very quickly what we didn’t feel like eating: Fresh spinach leaves, for example, or Brussels sprouts. But when we had to choose between several great things, it became difficult and the process dragged on forever. Fast food was the worst. We would spend minutes poring over the menu at McDonald’s until our parents freaked out.
If you still want to eat everything at once, we have a great recipe for you: Cheese Burger Lasagna!
What you need
1/2 lb. lasagna noodles
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic
1 lb. ground beef
1 tbsp. tomato paste
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. yellow mustard
2 15-oz. cans tomato sauce
1 16-oz. container whole milk ricotta
1 large egg
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar
2 1/2 c. Shredded Monterey Jack
1/3 c. chopped tomatoes, for garnish
1/4 c. chopped pickle chips, for garnish
1 green onion, chopped
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Salt
Black pepper
And here’s how!
Cook the pasta until al dente and toss with a little olive oil after draining.
Sauté the onion over medium heat, add salt and pepper and the garlic, and fry for 1 minute more.
Season the minced meat with salt and pepper and fry for about 8 minutes
Stir in the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce and mustard, pour in tomato sauce, season and simmer for a few minutes.
Prepare ricotta mixture: In a medium bowl, mix the ricotta with the egg and season with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Prepare lasagna: In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. On top, add a layer of pasta, a large spoonful of ricotta mixture, another spoonful of meat sauce and a few pieces of cheese. Repeat the process a few times and finish with a layer of cheese.
Bake for about 35 minutes and then garnish with tomatoes, pickles, scallions and sesame seeds.
